Host Groups: Organise Your Monitors Your Way

November 14, 20252 min read

Group related monitors together to cut through dashboard clutter. Collapse, expand, and manage logical clusters of infrastructure from a single view.

As your monitor count grows, finding a specific host in a flat list gets slow. Host Groups let you organise monitors into logical clusters — by location, customer, environment, service tier, or however your team thinks about infrastructure.

Groups appear as collapsible sections on the dashboard. Each group shows an at-a-glance summary: total monitors, how many are currently up or down, and the group-level uptime percentage. You can collapse groups you're not actively focused on and expand them when you need the detail.

A collapse/expand all control at the top of the dashboard lets you go from a high-level summary view to a full detailed list in a single click. This is especially useful on larger screens during an incident when you want to quickly scan every host.

Groups are managed from My Team → Groups. You can create as many groups as you need, name them freely, and assign monitors to multiple groups if that fits your workflow. Monitors that aren't assigned to any group appear in an ungrouped section at the bottom of the dashboard.

Host Groups are available on Pro and Enterprise plans. If you're on a Free plan and your monitor list is getting unwieldy, this is one of the primary reasons to consider upgrading.
